A Proven Approach to Repairs & Rehabilitation
For more than three decades, our approach to structural repair and rehabilitation has always been systematic, practical, engineering-driven, and also focuses on long-term performance & satisfactory results. Every project begins with a thorough and detailed assessment of the structure in order to understand the condition of distress and identify its underlying causes.
Based on the evaluation and findings, tailored repair techniques are developed to restore structural integrity & reliability, improve durability, and extend the service life of the structure. This methodical approach ensures that each intervention not only resolves the immediate issue but also supports the optimal performance of the structure
Condition Mapping & Distress Identification
Our engineers conduct a systematic field survey to identify, classify, and map all deterioration across the structure. Cracking patterns, spalling zones, delamination, exposed reinforcement, efflorescence, and seepage points are recorded by severity and probable cause, and mapped onto structural drawings to define the full repair scope before any work begins.
Root Cause Analysis
SSPL engineers analyse distress data alongside NDT results and material test data to determine the underlying cause of deterioration. Whether the root cause is chloride-induced corrosion, carbonation, overloading, design deficiency, or environmental exposure, this analysis drives the selection of repair materials and methods that address the problem at its source rather than its symptom.
Repair Engineering & Method Statement Development
Our structural engineers prepare a complete repair engineering package covering material selection, application methods, surface preparation requirements, quality control parameters, and acceptance criteria. A detailed method statement is prepared for every repair contract, providing site teams with unambiguous step-by-step execution instructions that ensure consistency of application across the full scope of works.
Surface Preparation & Repair Execution
Repair execution is carried out by SSPL’s in-house site teams trained in the application of specialised concrete repair systems. Surface preparation including saw cutting, hydro demolition, and reinforcement cleaning is executed to the standard specified in the method statement. Repair materials are applied with strict control over ambient conditions, substrate moisture, application thickness, and curing protocols.
Quality Assurance & Performance Verification
Completed repairs are subjected to systematic QA checks covering surface finish, bond strength, applied thickness, and curing adequacy. Post-repair NDT is conducted where specified. All quality records are compiled into a final completion report providing clients with documented evidence of repair performance and compliance with the specified standards.
